How it works

Working with your body, not against it.

Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural alternative to many facial rejuvenation services. Rather than introducing foreign substances, it prompts your own skin to do the work: specialized needles are placed at specific points on the face and body to stimulate cellular renewal, boost collagen production, and increase circulation and natural radiance.

The result is skin that looks more lifted, even and taut, with the added benefit of the whole-body balancing that comes with every acupuncture treatment. Because the approach works with your body's own systems, results build gradually over a course of treatment rather than appearing overnight.

What it helps with

Cosmetic acupuncture can help improve:

Fine lines and wrinkles
Skin laxity and loss of tone
Uneven texture or dullness
Puffiness and under-eye concerns
Overall skin vitality and glow
Whole-body balancing, as with any acupuncture treatment

What to expect

Built as a course, not a one-off.

i.

A full course

A complete course of 10 to 12 treatments is recommended for the best results, followed by occasional maintenance sessions to sustain them.

ii.

Gradual, cumulative results

Because this works with your body's own collagen and circulation, changes build gradually across the course rather than after a single visit.

iii.

Direct insurance billing

Cosmetic acupuncture can be direct-billed with most major insurance companies, including Green Shield, Blue Cross, and the Telus Health network.

Cosmetic acupuncture questions

Before you book.

How is this different from Botox or fillers?

Cosmetic acupuncture doesn't introduce anything foreign into the skin. Instead, fine needles stimulate your own collagen production and circulation, so results build gradually and look like your skin at its best, rather than altering it.

When will I start seeing results?

Most people notice early changes in skin tone and radiance within the first few sessions, with more visible lifting and firmness building across the full 10 to 12 treatment course.

Does it hurt more than regular acupuncture?

No. Facial points can feel slightly more sensitive than points on the body, but the needles used are extremely fine and most people find the sensation minimal.

Is cosmetic acupuncture covered by insurance?

Yes. It's eligible for coverage the same way regular acupuncture is, and we can direct-bill most major insurers including Green Shield, Blue Cross, and the Telus Health network.

Will there be any downtime?

None. Some very minor, temporary redness at needle sites is possible, similar to a light flush, but most people return to their day immediately after treatment.
